INTERNATIONAL YOUTH STEM SUMMIT

(Manchester - United Kingdom 1-6 August 2025)

The International Youth STEM Summit is a premier gathering of high school students aged 13 to 18 from diverse backgrounds and cultures, aimed at fostering global collaboration, innovation, and leadership in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Background

With the increasing complexity of global challenges such as climate change, technological ethics, and sustainable development, it is imperative to nurture young minds equipped with the skills and knowledge to address these issues. By combining expert-led sessions, hands-on activities, and cross-cultural collaboration, this summit aims to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders to think critically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.

Held over six days, the summit features a blend of thought-provoking lectures, interactive workshops, cultural exchanges, and real-world STEM challenges designed to empower participants with the tools to innovate and lead in an increasingly interconnected world.

Expected Outcomes

By the end of the summit, participants will:

The summit is open to high school students aged 13 to 18 with a passion for STEM, innovation, and global collaboration.

Rundown

Day 1: Arrival

  • Morning: Arrival of participants at the designated location.
  • Afternoon: Hotel check-in and registration.
  • Evening:
    • Welcome dinner.
    • Ice-breaking activities to build connections among participants.

Day 2: Opening Ceremony & STEM Exploration

  • Morning:
    • Opening Ceremony:
      • Welcome speech by the organizer.
      • Inspirational keynote address by a prominent STEM leader/scholar.
    • Public Lecture 1: “Current Issues in STEM” by a renowned speaker.
  • Afternoon:
    • STEM Exploration:
      • Visit to a science museum or interactive STEM exhibits.
      • Guided discussions to connect museum insights with current STEM challenges.
  • Evening:
    • Group reflection and recap session.
    • Networking time for participants.

Day 3: Communication & Museum Immersion

  • Morning:
    • Workshop: “Public Speaking in STEM”
      • Hands-on activities to improve presentation and communication skills.
    • Small group practice sessions.
  • Afternoon:
    • STEM Museum Challenge:
      • Collaborative activity where participants solve a museum-related STEM puzzle or problem.
  • Evening:
    • Introduction to the STEM Youth Challenge:
      • Participants are divided into groups of 4–5 people.

Day 4: STEM Youth Challenge & Cultural Night

  • Morning:
    • Case studies are distributed.
    • Teams begin brainstorming solutions.
    • Teams discussing the potential solutions 
    • Teams preparing presentation 
  • Afternoon:
    • Presentation session:
      • Each team presents their proposed solution to a panel of judges.
      • Feedback and discussions on the proposed solutions.
  • Evening:
    • Cultural Night:
      • Showcase of traditional performances by participants or invited performers.
      • Cultural exchange activities and food sampling.

Day 5: Day Trip & Closing Ceremony

  • Morning to Afternoon:
    • Day Trip:
      • Visit a significant STEM-related site or a local cultural landmark.
      • Group activities to explore real-world STEM applications.
  • Evening:
    • Closing Ceremony:
      • Announcement of the best team from the STEM Youth Challenge.
      • Distribution of participation certificates and awards.
      • Closing remarks by organizers and a farewell message.
